Membership Information

As a member of the Seattle Flute Society you will be connected to a diverse network of professional and amateur flutists, students, teachers, and patrons of all levels. Every season (Sept 1 to Aug 31) we present local or national flutists of high caliber in several events such as workshops, masterclasses, performances, and pedagogy courses. Since the SFS is a non-profit organization, these events are made possible through membership fees and donations. The SFS offers several types of memberships all of which include many benefits (outlined below). We encourage you to become a member of the SFS to help our network grow so we can continue to provide opportunities for flutists in the future.

Benefits Include:

Discounted tickets for all events (some are even free!)
Receive the informational SFS Newsletter
Post announcements about jobs, performances, instruments for sale, etc. on our website calendar
Online teacher directory (additional $5 added to membership fee)
Participate in the SFS Adult Flute Choir
Opportunity to perform in the All Membersï¿½ Recital or Young Membersï¿½ Rectial
Apply to participate in the Frank and Lu Horsfall Competition (Grades 6-12)

Membership Types

Please download a copy of the membership form that you can print out and mail.

Active Membership ($30 annually) is for professional and amateur flutists who are no longer students.
Student Membership ($20 annually) is for students in 7th grade through Graduate School. Students receive an extra discount on ticket prices for SFS events.
Prelude Membership is a free membership for students in 6th grade and under. The student must be recommended by a private teacher.
Household Membership ($45 annually) extends the membership benefits to family members.
Patron Membership ($75 annually) is for anyone wanting to provide extra support to the SFS. As a thank you, Patron members get their name listed in our event programs.
Lifetime Membership ($500) is for those who wish pay a one-time fee that allows you to be a member for life. We will recognize your dedication by listing your name on our website and in our event programs.

Donations: If you would like to make a tax-deductible contribution to the SFS, whether or not you are a member, please check the ï¿½donationï¿½ box on the membership form.

The SFS also offers a Commercial Membership for our sponsors. The Commercial Membership ($100 annually) provides advertising space in our newsletter and on our website for your business, and allows you to reserve a table at our annual Flute Festival in the Spring.
